If wishing it could bring you back to me Beside me here then you would surely stand My heart would sing in three part harmony If once again you graced my lonely land. If wishing were the balm to heal this pain At last my heart so light would sing a song Of joy replacing sorrow's sad refrain And dance a happy jig my whole life long. But wishes can't do anything at all And dreams, I know, can't change a single thing Reality has cruelly come to call And missing you's the only song I sing. At rainbow's end we'll meet again, I'm sure That pot-O-gold that I am longing for. For Mom and Dad, in memory. ------------------ 12/99 |

moving and wisdom filled tribute Denise, beautiful...and I'm sorry for both your losses and Claire's...as this dedication speaks of. take care,jm The stars shine so bright, now's the time I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face, Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you And held you close. Now I will reach for the stars... Because Oh my love, that's where you are... Though the storms of black night rage on I still see your face I still feel your lips on mine And though my heart feels all alone without you I still hear you sing to me I still hear your voice on the sea... vertical horizon |

Oh Denise, thank you for posting this...this is such a beautiful, touching poem for your parents...these words speak so poignantly of your love for them. What a treasure this is! Thank you, in earnest, for sharing these words with me right now, Denise. This is such a thoughtful gesture, and I love your beautiful poem. Many hugs to you, my friend. ~ Claire |

D~ I was walking through this open woods and came upon this poem. Very nice. There is one teeny word that I would offer a suggestion on, (as I am reading The Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav) but rather than point it out here, you may e-mail me or bring your poem to the calm waters of the Critical Analysis group. By the way, I think that the names on this Web site are misleading. Instead of "Critical Analysis" for example, I think it should be called a "Mentoring Group". A critic is somebody who is trying to shoot someone down. A mentor is someone who is trying to help someone. And instead of "Open 6" the name should be "Friendship Forum" as the title "open" implies that anything goes. Whereas "friendship forum" would imply that it doesn't- it's a forum of and for friends. Anyway, I liked this poem, for what it's worth. (Just one little word) best regards, bboog |

This is touching and very well done. We need to keep some form of faith and this expresses that so well. |
