Coming of Age Spring is birth of the reborn Opening leaf unto the sun To petal forth in vibrancy And claim the earth when winter’s done The dormant seedling comes of age Arriving at the perfect hour And gracefully assumes the stage To spread the seed of blooming flower A time to celebrate the life For death and life to come as one Nourished by the April rain And flourished by the touch of sun Springtime brings more to the spirit Than the changes on the earth It wakens love and wakens life Arrousing hearts to passion’s birth No other moment brings such joy And self awarness of our worth Elizabeth Santos |
