Listening to every heart

The Quiet Time

It’s the quietest of time
the resting time for my heart,
knowing that so very soon,
he and I won’t be apart.

It’s the very quiet time
giving my heart a rest
until I see my love again,
knowing he is my best.

Shh, quiet, quiet time,
allow me to touch base
before I see my love again,
his kiss my mind does taste.

Easy vision on my eyes,
loving him in my soul
to grow with him daily,
still remains a goal.

I say “I love you” always;
does he hear it with his heart?
Does he know deep in his soul
we will never part?

Perhaps he does, then again, not,
but I will take what he’s got
and return it tenfold with true love,
shh, it’s quiet time, with my love.

Anticipation is wonderful, "his kiss my mind does taste", but then the real is always better than anticipated. Your poem well describes that peace of mind and heart knowing you're about to see a loved one

Wow - this is so special.  (I am whispering you know?).  I loved the peace that flows with this poem.  The sincerity of love.  Simply beautiful

Sunshine~
I like your 'Quiet Time'

Tick - Tock
Hurry on little clock
Enough of this
His touch I miss
Enter now
Into my sight
Something is
So very right !
