I wrote this one to my wife, Toni, for our 27th wedding anniversary. We'll celebrate our 30th in June. Melton I have been lucky to see many things along life’s busy road. Like a running stream, a tall green tree, and even a small horny - toad. Our mother earth has a lot to offer if we just take the time to see. You can hear the winds, feel the land’s soil, or gaze into the mighty seas. But there is more I still want to see and feel much more of God’s beautiful land. Like the Grand Canyon, or Yellowstone Park, or feel a distant seashore’s sands. Some things I have already felt and seen, And these things can not be replaced. A pretty rainbow, a bouquet of flowers, or my granddaughter’s smiling face. These things are wonderful and amazing, And they are precious to behold. But, another thing God has given me is cherished and dear, you should know. Its something that is all wrapped up in one, And its found deep within my heart. It is more beautiful than a full moon. Its my love for you, the best part. 27 years you have been my bride. And there’s nothing better than that. It's a feeling I can not hide. A toast to the best, and I tip my hat. |
