All my friends are living here. This is where i'm supposed to be. This place where i grew up, It means so much to me. I don't want to leave. Please don't make me go! This is where I need to be, This I'm sure i know. I know you don't want to live here anymore, But what about me? I'm the one who has no choice here, Why does this have to be? I love this place, It's absolutely great! So are the people here, Even the ones i've known to hate. My friends will have to come with me, If we can't stay here. I'm moving in a few months. It's coming very near. All my friends will come to visit, But when they leave, I'm going to miss it. All the things i'm so used to, Will always be in my memory. Of this little old town, We call Granite City. |

I moved alot when I was young and it sux...but you'll make new friends to go along with the old...the best of luck to you.I know its hard..hang in there. |

It's so difficult to be uprooted from friends, and you have expressed that so well. Keep writing from your heart, your enotions are showing and are being felt. That's what poetry is all about. Keep up the good work Liz |

Beautybrat, Hang in there!! I know moving is tough, but remember "home is where the heart is" and there could be lots of new friends waiting to meet you out there. The old ones will understand and visit if they are really and truly your friends. Good luck!! beauty this is a lovely poem...sorry you have to move soon. My dad was in the Air Force while I was growning up so we moved about every three years..it was kind of stressful cause every time you got settled in it was time to move again. You learn to make the best of the situation. In some ways it was interesting..I got to live in Kentucky, florida, georgia, montana ,japan, and california. Keep writing...you're doing good. -beauty this is a great piece you have here. moving is really hard to do sometimes. both of my best friends have moved away. i live in north carolina...and my one best friend moved to boston, and the other one lives outside of chicago. hang in there, and im sure if you're friends are who you think they are...you all will be good friends still for many years to come. take care amy ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ |

Hey, there, BeautyBrat - great poem! It really expresses the emotions involved with moving to a new home. I have moved several times in my life, but always within the same state.
