Long ago and far away A haunted soul was formed A sentinel, a watcher bold, And far beyond the norm. The Silver Surfer he was called, He could not be ignored, With shiny skin, and staring eyes, And trusty stellar board. His destiny, to surf the skies, Patrol the Universe, See sights unseen by human eyes, Immortal is his curse. To gaze upon the plight of man, His love and hate, his wars To surf the long forgotten strands, And sail forbidden shores. To see the lovely Saturn rings, Uranus bare and cold, To surf the very face of Sol, As flares around him rolled. He watched the growing Nebula, Searched wide the Milky Way, Saw suns go dim, and moons be born, And races fade away. He knows the way of man with maid, Of love, its life and death, And longs to have a mate his own, To share his every breath. A mate for his non-human soul? I scarcely dare to think! So on he goes as ages roll, A bitter cup to drink. But still, the surfer dares to dream Of one to call his own, To share his sorrow, make him clean Yet on he surfs alone. It matters not her outward looks, Nor age, for he is old, He merely craves a loving heart, To warm him when he's cold. A kindly word, a gentle smile, That loves him as he is, A loving glance, a tender kiss Would be to him, sweet bliss. But who could love a being such, As Surfer for their own? Alas, it seems his search is vain, His quest goes on and on. -- Visit My Home Page http://www.geocities.com/montcogunslinger/HomePage.html |

A vison like the old greek mythology Hermes once had wings to fly Now he uses a surf board I like this piece Thank you < !signature--> The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. Yes gunslinger me and the silver surfer both want someone that will accept us as we are and bearing a loving heart. Very creative writing. Its no fun surfing alone. James |
