You Were the First to Throw a Kiss You were the first to throw a kiss In light of morning sun You edged the way with promises And hope for things to come Until this moment everything Was clouded in a haze And life could only weary sing In never-ending maze My footpath is more well defined My face is more aglow My eyes are bathed in season’s wine And joy is all I know My spirit has been captured In most unexpected ways My heart has been enraptured In the thoughts of future days Oh, how I’ve longed to see your face Appear in dawn's sweet hour May coming days your essence grace With pure and splendid flower I thank you for the joy you bring Despite the morning chill White crocuses, first blooms of spring And next comes daffodil Elizabeth Santos |
