You Were the First to Throw a Kiss

You were the first to throw a kiss
In light of morning sun
You edged the way with promises
And hope for things to come

Until this moment everything
Was clouded in a haze
And life could only weary sing
In never-ending maze

My footpath is more well defined
My face is more aglow
My eyes are bathed in season’s wine
And joy is all I know

My spirit has been captured
In most unexpected ways
My heart has been enraptured
In the thoughts of future days

Oh, how I’ve longed to see your face
Appear in dawn's sweet hour
May coming days your essence grace
With pure and splendid flower

I thank you for the joy you bring
Despite the morning chill
White crocuses, first blooms of spring
And next comes daffodil

Elizabeth, friend of Spring
Oh, what joy your blossom's bring.

As always ... you brighten the day
with your smile.
Love this one a whole bunch.
Love you ~*Marge*~

Fresh breath of spring air, ahh!

Feel the crispness of morning
Then caress the suns warm rays
Buds are now upon the trees
Fragrance soon will fill our days

Lilacs will be full in bloom
Their fragrance like no other
Love is blooming everywhere
Wafting scents our senses smother

Liz, this is exceptional...there is something about it...the way it effected

Do you care what is thought by others about you

edged the way with promises
what a lovely phrase that is

and altogether a light and happy springishness to the poem, the first delicate blossom of new love.

Can you tell I like it ?

Not only a delicate feeling of springtime flows here, but the promise of a new season of the heart, as well, I suspect. Beautiful writing, Liz.

Liz, this is a beautiful poem, as always... but you did mislead me with the title, I made myself ready for a love poem! LOL
