Chemical Abuse

Her hair on top is thinning
She’s getting old it seems
She consumes more than she should consume
She’s bursting at the seams

Her face is parched, she's turning grey
Her voice is out of tune
Heat flashes in the winter time
And shivering in June

Her blood is filled with chemicals
Her arteries are clogged
Her skin is getting wrinkled
It's the same old dialogue

She asks why this is happening
So far before her time
She thought herself still rather young
Not even in her prime

She’s losing all her beauty
It’s not a natural course
But her body was abused so long
And now she’s in remorse

She’s still a dear old friend to me
A treasure of great worth
But she’s not the same as she once was
My dear friend, Mother Earth

Oh Liz, this is wonderful!!! What a great surprise ending...at first I thought you were talking about me.  So sad what is happening to our beautiful earth.

Oh, Elizabeth~
This is just wonderful.
This little Cherokee loves it and
the spirits of the heritage have
chanted the message for generations.

I am moved by your render.
Thank you for these precious thoughts.

What a surprise that was! And it is something we should all pay attention to.

Don't worry about dear Mother Earth.
She'll clean out all her pores.
She simply gives her head a shake
And....goodbye, dinosaurs!

You think I'm kidding? You can ask
That fella known as Noah
Or all the folks that used to live
Around Mt. Krakatoa!

Fear not for Mother Nature, girl.
She is a strong old cuss.
You better shake your pretty head
And worry about us!!
