The Reaper
~~~
Speak  not  these  words
this  is  no  game
Do  not  even  whisper
the  authors'  name
Their  forces  watch
from  every  crack
They're  out  in  force
so  watch  your  back
~
When  I  am  dead
flesh  rotten  away
Bones  hung  in  sun
for  wind  to  play
Twist  off  my  scull
and  carve  these  words
Then  send  it  to  these
computer  nerds
~
They  write  the  games
of  blood  and  gore
Teach  empty  heads
to  kill  and  more
They  lead  us  through
a  senseless  slaughter
They  twist  your  son
and  then  your  daughter
~
Carve  these  words
and
carve  them  deep
Kiss  your  ***  good-by
when  grim  comes
to  reap
~~~

I'm just visually challenged!

Yikes! This is a very potent piece of poetry! So descriptive and foreboding...such a powerful message. It gave me a shiver, Rex.

Wow! This is certainly powerful. It is very dark and maybe more than I would like to admit exists in reality,but it is definitely moving which is the one true barometer for poetry.

This is so dark but so much a part of our reality. You presented it in such a powerful way. Excellent read!!

Thanks everyone ... without a funny punchline must have been the biggest surprise here

OHHHH scary..creepy..shivers down the spine..but I LIKE it!!
Mind you I also love electrical storms and ghost stories!!

Seriously, I thought this had an interesting and ture message to it as well, violence begets violence, the games children play makes you wonder what our world will be like. And THAT IS scary

Yes, Rex, the absence of a punch line took me by surprise. Great writing, though.
