Sun rays
shadowed
  of clouds dark
and
tears fall
like rain, pounding
hard against my
heart

for I don't know
how to let
     you go

your starlit eyes….
  never gazed upon
mine
  flesh to flesh
   fingers entwined
with chance…
         only to
abandon

breath that
escapes the
melodic tune of
your voice
   at no time
fell upon
these ears

so

soul mates
   once found
become
dreamers forever
lost.
