Messages of pain buried in my skin (again and again and again) Pavlonian biology... to my garden, I must tend. Once burned we learn instinctive retraction-- recoiling from the slightest warmth-- much less the hint of heat of passion. I wish to be where you are now, at distance from myself. Writing up the commentary, returning book to shelf. Violating protocol-- worried I might offend. I'm not surprised that I'm surprised-- just the way it's always been. So I offer, in humility, all that I can manage. But understand when you take my hand, I suffer still from damage. Forgive me if I trod on toes, I haven't danced for years, ya know... |

serenity, we all carry some damage with us. And don't worry about them toes... when it's time to dance... Dance!!! I truly feel you pain. I only wish I knew a way to ease it. Michael |

But understand when you take my hand, I suffer still from damage. ------------ serenity, this poem is perfection...i was taken by its words and emotions...in the things we must have in common... your pen danced while writing this one... and I would like to thank you for the very sweet and supportive words to my poems here and over in DP... you always touch me and make me smile. take care, jm and you can say baby... baby can I hold you tonight maybe if told you the right words... at the right time, you'd be mine... baby can I hold you tonight... tracy chapman |
