I write
About humanity
I fight
Injustice that I see
My right
To be just who I be
My plight
A love that's not for me

Guilty
A victim of my crime
Sentenced
Go down for one last time
Locked up
Behind these bars of hate
Save me
I prey it's not too late

Useless
Are thoughts that I explain
Nothing
Is what I have to gain
Tortured
By all this constant pain
Slowly
I drive myself insane

Taunted
By dreams I have inside
Feels like
My soul has all but died
No one
Around me now will be
My friends
Have all abandoned me

Question
How come she did not see
See what
The man that lives in me
Wonder
Just why it is I cry
Because
Without her love I die

Who cares
About the things I've done
Draw stares
That come from everyone
Lonely
This bed that I now lie
Grows cold
As all the nights go by

Thrust deep
In darkness and despair
Thoughts creep
Of who will really care
So steep
This mountain that I climb
With that
I choose to end this rhyme

I know, I know, I should have put this in dark passions, but I had the urge to put it here, sorry. Don't worry, I not that depressed. This is just what came to mind. I hope you like it.

Well, I do. You captured the spirit of the feeling very well.

I most certainly like it...and especially the rhythm you've employed. Really expressive!

Wow, thanks! I didn't think that anybody would like this being posted here because it's kind of a dark poem. But I'm glad to know that you did. Thank you Balladeer, Meadowmuse and Marge for your comments. They mean a lot to me.
