If you were my girl there are so many things that I would love to do
I'd open my heart to make a new start to prove my love for you
I'd climb a tall peak and tell all the land how you set my heart a whirl
And I'd do so much more with a gleam in my eye if only you were my girl

If you were my girl a shower of love is all that you would see
I'd do different things like push you in swings because you'd mean that much to me
I know in your arms is where I would find my troubles would unfurl
And I'd sleep good at night consumed with delight with the thought of you as my girl

If you were my girl I know we would share a love that would out last time
It would be so awesome to watch our love blossom like the words within this rhyme
I would be so weak as to sneak a peek at your beauty my wonderful pearl
And lost in love I would be with thee if you chose to be my girl

Hi all. Just to set the record straight, I did not write this for anybody. I did it just to prove to myself that I still could write love poems. That's what made this one so hard to write because I have no love inspiration to go by. I have written so many anti-love poems as of late that I thought that I couldn't write a positive one again. I'll admit that it's not my best work, but maybe one day when I find love again I'll be able to write one that is better. Anyways, I hope you like it. Thank you.

I for one really like it! It's sweet and romantic and light enough to be handled and not scare the girl away, yet serious enough to let her know that she is welcome to stay. I think it's wonderful. BTW love the pic! Had to zoom in 3 times to get a good look! Cute kids too. Thanks for the read.

You could have fooled me! This is great! Sure sounds like a man in love to me! (save it to give to that special one when she comes along!)

Thank you all so much for your kind words. Hopefully one day I'll find that special some one to give this to, wish me luck. But in the mean time I think I'll hang on to it. Thanks again!

I read this with almost a nostalgic aire...I do enjoy the innocence and sincerity that this piece offers. And as for your post script, I can relate.

Hey G.A.Webb almost every girl I meet I fall in love with so I have plenty of inspiration...but I didn't say that they fall in love with me...so I have plenty of frustration.  I'm getting lots of practice anyway.   I feel a lot like that old song sometimes "I'll Never Fall In Love Again."   James

WOW! I really didn't expect this kind of a responce on a piece that I thought was OK at best. Thank you all very much!!! I'm glad you liked it.

G-

I just came across this one, and like it, I did!! I thought this was very romantic and sweet. Save it for the girl who captures your heart, and is worth of you! Best of luck to you hon. Take care,
