When the seeds of doubt take sprout, fret and worry consume the day, sucking up the ambient light like a secret, tucked away. The sky is still as blue, but it eludes you, why do we gauge this voice inside, why do we listen to this void, when we should just let it slide. Come on, let it slide. It’s only a voice after all, like a fist tight and small. The day is just as bright, just like night with the moon to guide our way, feeling that old voice articulate, keeping joy at bay. It’s just a habit, a bad one at that, like living life along the fray, let’s go outside, let’s be children, come, let’s enjoy the day. © 2000 CM Bailey |

Ah, but though the voice is small and fisted it screams through every wall enlisted to silence it, to keep it mute. That voice keeps one from tasting fruit of the offerings from lovely, ripened vines of Life, of Love, of innocent times. But to listen to it, one must not! Be strong, my friend, please don't get caught in the voice, its low vibrato toll wants desperately to claim your soul Hold fast! And do not let it win! Use every means to see its end! Be gone, vile voice, and leave her be! Leave her to play, a child, so free. I loved your poem, Corinne...I so understand the voice. Take care  ~ Claire |

I've hid in the closet of a recluse for much my life, Corinne. I know many blue skies have eluded me in my time. This was a beautiful reminder not to let doubt reign over my life. Wonderful poem. michael |
