She is a long, cool drink of vintage wine Poised before my lips And held there until the end of time Savored with little sips Not drained in one fleeting, clumsy swallow Bypassing the sensitive tongue Slowing the flow brings such pleasure to follow Lessons not learned by the young With age comes a deepening form of understanding Of how to sustain that flow, To savor forever the taste of her I am demanding And in doing so, The moment that would otherwise be spent fleeting Is frozen somehow in time A choice I chose willingly upon our first meeting To tend her green growing vine She will thus ripen, upon lips of mine She, that way will be, like vintage wine |

*gulp* *sigh* *BIG SIGH*... does anybody else think its warm in here She is a long, cool drink of vintage wine Poised before my lips And held there until the end of time Savored with little sips -------- Slowing the flow brings such pleasure to follow Lessons not learned by the young With age comes a deepening form of understanding Of how to sustain that flow, To savor forever the taste of her I am demanding ------------ She will thus ripen, upon lips of mine She, that way will be, like vintage wine this doesnt happen often...but I think I am taken of all my words for the moment...so I'll just sit here and sip the pleasure of this poem (smile) stalking you always, jm Now for me some words come easy But I know that they don't mean that much Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch You never knew what I loved in you I don't know what you loved in me Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be jackson browne |

Thanks JM, as always, you have a way with(or without) words...LOL Go ahead and savor it, the finer things in life need to be slowly savored and last as long as possible. |

This is exquisite, just like vintage wine. Wonderful poem! A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |
