Kiss Me You Fool!

How dear this potion de amore
from the hag who lived down the lane,
she spoke of Eros and Psyche
and the days of Venus’ reign.

She asked what I desired most
from my charming intended one,
of course it was his lasting kiss,
his heart I will finally have won.

She called upon the god Lupercus
a chill filled the dark, dank room,
and with my vial of purple potion
chased me out with a witch’s broom.

I paid a visit to my heart’s desire,
my purchase behind my back,
the only one home was his brother
the ugly one we called Jack.

Luck was not with me on this day,
he took the vial from my hand and drank,
and when he said “Kiss me, you fool!”
you can trust that my heart sank.

For just then my dear sweet prince
did waltz through the front door
the repulsive one was kissing me,
and my love was my love no more.

This will teach you a lesson, you naughty naughty girl!  You should rely on your own bewitching powers of allure, rather than some old hag's.  I love this poem as much as I love your other works.  Nice job, Corinne.

Yes, yes I must agree. You bewitching allure is more powerfull than any potion could implore. Kiss me you fool.

This place needs an email option, I always get caught trying to flirt with you. Here goes anyway.
From where do you see the stars in your sky.
If you look into the sky tonight,
and then close your eye's very very light
I'll send a kiss, up to the great abyss
and Aurora's Lights will steer it right
and if you wait just a little bit
it'll find your lips for a gentle kiss.

Parker ... the shameless flirt.

If it passes through a thunderstorm, it'll be a very wet smacker.

Well I could
but I don't know if I should
A nice potion your wrote Corinne
Here you two I have a poem I wrote for a dear friend of mine about a year ago or so, perhaps you try this

Imagine

There is a breeze across the sea
Rather swift, short ready to flee
You look upon the stars that filling the firmament above
You try to figure, which on he is looking at my dove
Your inner soul is shaking with fear
Yes he knows how much you love him my dear
Your eyes cast on a flickering ball
Imagine that this the one that is his all
Send your love you keep inside
Hoping his heart receives the love open wide
Wondering if he does know
Your loving feeling will reach him and it will show
Show what longing you endure
Show him that you’re very sure
Believe when I say this, I have been there once
Hoping, that I had a similar chance
Believe when I say, I called her name
In busy streets without I ever felt any shame
Believe when I say, that he will feel
The lonely star, for him the star will be real
Not only know, ……feel it in your breast
He will hear your voice calling beyond the waving crest
I know it works. I have was there, long time since has gone by
So call out his name, don’t be shy.

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Smiling...reminds me of "Love Potion Number Nine"...although this is funny in parts, it also serves as a reminder we can't play with/fool love and should never try

Parker, what a sweet, sweet poem, thank you!
I think I caught that kiss in a storm, leaving me feeling safe and warm...

Helmut, that piece speaks to me and I believe in this sort of mystery.

Thank you, also, Angel, Marge and Hoot!

ahhh, but this prince was only fool
in that I'd not yet proved
the love I felt for you, sweet lass -
the strength with which you'd moved

my heart to see its rightful home,
a place of grace and peace;
and so, it had, gladly revoked
each other graceless lease.

So, know, my sweet, you've long since won
the heart of this poor fool -
a heart that sees that yours is not
a heart my brother rules.

But, just in case, I asked the hag
to wield her magic art
upon some other neighbor lass
who might then win Jack's heart.

To my surprise she answered, "No!
No need for such device.
For I am tenant in Jack's heart
and he has conquered mine."

Exellent, magical story here!  But ya know, maybe lil ol Jack is in the long run better than that handsome prince..it's been known to happen.    Great work.
