I was looking again in old journals and found a nearly-finished poem that lacked only 2-3 lines....filled them in and this is the result. I would llike to say I never write in this archaic style but apparently 15 years ago I was trying my hand at it. It does seem fitting for Valentines Day, though. All The Things Thou Art How often I have waked to find There is no forgetting thee; No banishment from dream or thought, Night and day thou art with me. Thou art the sun of each new day, Thou the shadow and the light. Thou art the stars, the phantom moon That breaks the darkness of the night. And thou art the whole world to me, All I know of earth and sky. Thou art the reason that I breathe, A part of me I can't deny. Thou art the very heart of me, Sole creator of my mood. Thou art the whole of life to me, Thou the evil and the good. And there is no forgetting thee, No denying my own heart. I am destined to pass my days Loving all the things thou art. Thank you Mike Looking it over I realize it is pretty well done as it is hard to use that language and stay consistent throughout. Perhaps just for fun I will try my hand at more of them . |

I like it. I write that sort of thing to my wife of almost 30 years, so I believe it is working. Melton |

Such piece you did with showing HIs art He will always be in our heart I like the style I like your way I added my reply I say I push you up where you belong Of God and Love you sing a song The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Beki- Archaic or not ... it is a fresh new look at an age old affliction ... LOVE ! It will never go out of style. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

I think the reason Passions is so popular is that we can have a taste of every form of poetry! From your superb Haiku poetry to this equally superb archaically written love poem..... I like! |
