One day at a time I go on wondering why,
Why do I put up with this life?,
Why do I put up with the pain?,
My body is broken,
My spirit is torn,
I am a helpless bag of skin and bone,
Still I wonder,
Why do I go on?,
I could give up and set my self free,
I know I am losing my mind,
One day at a time,
This world is different than the one I loved long ago,
I am a prisor in my mind,
Still I think to myself,
Why so I go on in this world,
I will find peace when I find death,
As I raise the gun to my head I think,
Finally, my day of freedom has come,
As I say goodbye to my dead wife and son,
I cock the gun with a smile on my face,
I say goodbye to this world,
The last thought one my mind was a happy one,
I thought to myself finally I am free,
I am happy yes I am,
Happy to die no,
Happy to finally live.

I don't know if you were seriously thinking thoughts like this or not, and it was quite a while ago you wrote the poem, but do go to the Corner Pub and read March Showers and Memories.  Both show when someone commits suicide it affects far more people then they realized.  I hope you're over feeling blue by now if that was the case.  Good luck.   < !signature-->

I awake to a world I don't want.  There is no transition for me.  I am in heaven.  I am in hell.

I found myself feeling scared to finish this poem, but of course I did.  I wondered why it wasn't at the Dark Passions site. Let's have more!
