She stoops to conquer By Alex Hahn Sharing a loss of words Hearing tension, close to explosion Every breath is labored See how we live in agony To pretend joy surrounds Over our lives Over our primitive naivete Please hear what needs to be said Stop disguising love in hate Try and believe in me Or try and believe in you Cool breath turns to hot flame, as from the angered Queen Mab Oedipus could have forsworn a love truer than yours Never look at this or understand me Question my every move Underestimate all that surrounds you Every day wander in delirious disillusionment Rejected, hang your head in shame *************** Please send all replies to mrman143@juno.com |
