I come alive with echoes of your touch.
Love drowns me in memories of your eyes,
each bringing to mind your passionate cries.
Now I see the price we've paid is too much.

We never knew the heart felt intense pain.
Together we sought out evasive flaws,
to exploit with wit and tenacious claws.
Now by our own hands true love is slain.

How could we have become this wretched Beast?
We share no blame for being taught to hate,
for only would sorrow fill our plate.
In Grief's religion we would be high priest.

The paths of life allow no turning back.
Therein lies our salvation's hope,
after God's forgiveness we need not grope.
His grace and love make up for any lack.

We are not a dog to come when He calls.
Compared to all that we could stand to lose,
are the gains great enough to make us choose?
We stand behind lonely protective walls.

Burned we become by the Light of God's grace.
In the cooling shadows we wait and heal,
though striving to make of each woe a weal.
One day our pain will His love displace.

Beautiful. There is nothing beyond the reach of His grace.

This is a haunting tale my friend -- the loss of hope leaves one with a sense of emptiness at the end.  Powerful verse as usual.

This poem does well for my pondering of faith lately. Thank you for these thoughts.

I love the line...
In Grief's religion we would be High Priest.

You truly are a Soul Artist.
As Always you reach into the depths of your soul and share it's profound truthfulness with us all. Thank-You
