Who does she pretend to be? To love the man that’s inside of me. A simple glance to be believed, Love in her eyes, I feel deceived. Reflections in the mirror aren’t me, My image is blurred, no one can see. She only knows my written verse, My life’s in shambles, I am a curse. My pain I pour onto these pages, To try and keep from fits and rages. How much can I continue to take, Endless nights crying I lie awake. I think she wants to take that chance, To bind our souls in a lovers dance. The risk we take might be to great, To suffer again I just couldn’t take. I must accept the truth of my life, The reflection shown in the glint of my knife. To end it all would be easy for sure, Life is so hard why do I endure? |

This is very sad You endure because life is a precious gift we only get one and we need to look forward thats the only way |

The choice seems like a no brainer to me.... Possible happiness vs. Nothingness... Which makes more sense? |

A well constructed poem...I like the way you've addressed the issue of deception...whether it be real or perceived. As poets, we have the gift of writing with our hearts when we feel the need to do so, and writing purely from imagination when we wish. This piece speaks volumes. Nice work! Claire |

More than sad - this is heartwrenched - and I do hope your choices become clearer soon - I would say - don't give up though. K |

Because without life there can be no hope.. HUGS Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn. |
