God? oh God, the tears are burning the tears are burning my eyes oh God, they come unbidden they come all the time they come when i least expect or need them. God? are You there, God? can’t You hear my cries can’t You see my anguish do You really care are You there? God? the pain...it hurts i can’t stand it anymore live is not worth the living a waste of good suffering hey, i’m crying here God? why don’t You care why don’t You answer my prayer why don’t You protect me why don’t You provide for me why don’t You keep your promise? God? oh God! Thank you, God! please forgive all that unbelief... just weak and doubting, God guess i should learn to wait, huh guess i should learn to trust, amen... God? Just got home from another grueling Sat. nite at the restaurant and I come home and log in to my favorite place on the net and my brother has written a poem that really makes me feel like a heel. All nite I'm cussin' my bad misfortune and not realizing that actually I'm very blessed. I just didn't see it. Thanks Bro!! Poetry~ Words falling on paper, painting a dream. Shawna R. You should have posted this in Spiritual Journeys....they would have appreciated it there. But all in all you put me in my place...seems like I have to keep going through this time and time again, maybe one of these days I'll learn. I think I get more aggrivated at myself for constantly mistrusting His perfect will than I do at Him for not responding immediately. Great poem!!!! A very thought-provoking poem. Of course, I read it differently than everyone else. I see the last stanza as sort of a quick-fix heal-all that doesn't really last, hence the repetition of God? which happens to be the first line of the poem, too. I'm not saying I don't believe in God, but I am saying, nothing is easy as that. Maybe I'm just bitter. Nah, I'm too happy for that. Thanks for the post! Mike |
