REED-FRINGED LAGOONS I have set up the lagoon On the fringes of my mind Set it about with reeds And wait to be happy-- It doesn't work yet I'll add an outrigger A flock of flamingoes Climbing cumulus clouds And a porpoise splashing-- Still not quite happy I think I'll add you Beside me on the beach So I can point to it And hear you say "I like it!" NOW I'm happy. |

This is so sweet and true. We can make so much beauty in our minds but without someone to share it with...well, it's just not the same. In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. (ee cummings) |
