In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-01-07 11:46 PM

Fear billows
Rising upon clouded thoughts
A tempest of emotion
Flaring upon misty breath
I float within the drops
Of liquid grief
As a child of the rain.

The twilight drapes
Just as it always does
But entwined within these thorns
Luna's silver fingers
Slip away from me.

I never truly loved the light
Never yearned for it's warmth
Until heaven's gate closed
And left me
To pace the frigid darkness.

The silver net of starlight
Binds me to this earth
As within the cold I wait
Locked away
From eternal brilliance.

The fear of loosing
The only love I'll ever know
Crushes me
Under silent screams
The tempest rises again
And I am drenched
Within my soggy sorrow
Do not let me drown
As a windswept and forgotten
Child of the rain.

Like a gust of wind, ne'er trapped in a snare,
Like a lotus blossom, ne'er sprinkled by water,
Let me, like a unicorn, in solitude roam.*~ Hymn Of Buddha

Krista
I loved this verse, being bound to the earth by a "silver net of starlight" , just the reverse of what many think, that we are the fortunate to remain here on earth. I loved the thoughts and the imagery in this poem

Krista...I hope you understand this as the compliment it is meant as...you have the soul of an old woman in a young woman's mind and body. You are wise beyond your years...what a well written piece of poetry, some of the phrases you have used are absolutely striking!!

This is beautifully written style
It held my heart there for a while
So nice laid out on paper there
Thanks to you to let is share

Thank you all!

And a very special thanks to you hoot and Michael.  I do take it as a compliment.  Many people have told me that I have an old soul. I do believe they are right.

Being in love with someone is more than just saying "I love you"
