This is a poem I wrote when Marilyn was about to have her second baby.

Beneath your heart so warm and kind,
You carried life so sweet.
Then held it in your loving arms,
For all the world to meet.

You sacrificed, you gladly gave,
You nurtured, loved and cared.
You praised him when he triumphed,
You protected when he was scared.

You are God's given wonder,
You shine upon the Earth,
You have the hardest job of all,
It starts with Baby's birth.

To you the world is thankful,
You deserve respect and love.
For you were sent to be a Mother,
With love ....  from God above.

WELCOME GRANDMA JO!!
Very warm and loving,
just a guy here, but as a dad
I am always in utter amazement
at the mere thought of giving birth.
Women are SO far superior than men.
Sorry GUYS deep down I believe we all
know it's true.

This is beautiful! I just sent this as an E-Card to my daughter, Caroline, who has been dealing with a cranky infant for the past couple of days! This should lift her spirits!

Thank you all so very much for the warm and wonderful thoughts. I know I am going to love being a member of this big family. The welcome you give me only enforces what Marilyn has said, "you are all very sweet people"

Grandma Jo!!!!!! You have just been pounced on and hugged fiercely about the neck!!! I told Marilyn I would do that when I saw your first post. Okay now for a little decorum... ahem.. Welcome to Passions, I love this poem and it is a great tribute to mothers everywhere. I hope you enjoy your stay with us...we are a strange bunch...well not all of us, but you know... I'm rambling, must be tired. ((((Hugs to you))))
