Icicles It gave you pleasure, melting my resistance shining in the sparkle you found in my eyes twinkling treasure Partially hidden from view wrapped in glossy paper you tore away layers, ribbons untied Held this gift in your gaze, touched outer layers, slipped in skillfully, heat replaced cold, closed my eyes, milky ways I have often wished upon you like some far off star in the icy wintery sky, and thought, Darlin’, if you only knew © 1999 Corinne Bailey |

Corinne Man! This was a great poem, with a KILLER last line. Any man who reads that last line and doesn't "gulp" is made of stone. I'm going home right now to see my Lorelei and make her see those Milky Ways. Thanks for the inspriation. |
