Almond eyes peek through frothy green, Rustling the glistening atmosphere. Her moves are quick and spirit keen, Though curling mists enhance her fear. Sinister poison creeps upon the ground, Slowly bleeding from a skeletal hand. An ominous footfall is the only sound, Echoing within her ancestral lands. Her wings flutter with a glossy light, And her very essence begins to stumble. The withering sun gives way to night, As for the needed strength she fumbles. The lightening brings the very first blow, As the dark phantom confidently emerges. His eyes show of the hateful inferno below, As from him, Satan's wrath surges. The shell of beauty is hard upon him, But within the inky serpent waits. Paralyzed, his opposer's spirit dims, And she begins to question her fate. Smoke billows from his howling lips, And starts to choke her feeble magic. From a brightly jeweled chalice he sips, The very smell making her sick. The tiny fae wavers and begins to fall, Headed for the agony of her brothers. Her soul then hears a familiar call, Demanding that she not die with the others. Remembrance stabs like a twisted blade, And she soars back towards the demon. She will not allow her people to fade, So her own brand of power she summons. The ground trembles and foliage entwines, Beneath her calm and gentle fingertips. Light breaks from the slithering vines, And his grasp on her world, she rips. Her silver fire begins to brightly blaze, Cleansing decay from her fragile home. The light returns with an amber haze, And in the luster, her people forever roam. *Krista Knutson* ~*Like a lion, without fear of the howling pack, Like a gust of wind, ne'er trapped in a snare, Like a lotus blossom, ne'er sprinkled by water, Let me, like a unicorn, in solitude roam.*~ Hymn Of Buddha |

Wonderful Poem Krista!! The title caught me, of course, me and fantasy you know.. and this is great! This is so well written, and the confrontation was masterful! Had me hanging on every word, my friend, Wonderful!! In flames I shall not be consumed, but reborn. -- Abrahm Simons |

Awesome Krista! I found it an exceptional read! Jenny Lee Love is an attempt at penetrating another being,But it can only succeed if the surrender is mutual. |

Alwye: What a fantastic tale you weave. Great imagery with lively characters to follow. I'm glad our little fae was victorious. |

I see so many things here, but the one I love most is the victory I not only see, but can feel. Beautiful work Alwye. B Gravitt |

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who felt it. Thank you Betty!
