Your Knight
~FIrst Knight~

Let me be your Knight,
That one who holds all that you are.
Upon the breeze we will ride to that place,
That place that only you and I know.

In the meadows I walk with thoughts only of you.
I ask, "Where has my mind gone?"
You haunt me like shadows that follow the light.
My thinking is not free, nor do I want it to be.

Let me be all that I am to you,
For we have not yet become all that we are.
I come to you now in the peace that you give,
Willingly I surrender to you and all that you are

I will gladly rest in your beauty,
Sit eager and await your return,
For I was made for you,
and my heart knows not another.

Hey! This is my favourite painting in the entire universe!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool!!!!!

Isn't it just so beautiful!!!!!!

(Though I have to tell you - the story attached to it is not a happy one. The woman is a fairy who bewitched him and left him in the morning after a night of love, forever sorrowed. He wandered from his knight's purpose and died of grief... - sad huh?)

And wonderful poem FKnight.

David...a beautiful poem to mirror the beauty of the picture portrayed above. I really enjoyed this stanza:
"I will gladly rest in your beauty,
Sit eager and await your return,
For I was made for you,
and my heart knows not another."
Very nice lines...nice posting

By the way...laughing...have I told you yet my theory on knights

Thank you whiskey and yes I got your reply

Ruth-Thank you for the kindness and yes you have told me your theory on knights....But my armor does not shine it has many dents and wear.  I come as I am....no more....no less. < !signature-->

Knight: Doesn't night follow dawn and dawn follow night..ooops...Nice work, as always..

HUGS

Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.

Kneel before me gentle knight
Right now on bended knee
Let me look into your eyes
As you say these words to me

I need to read the honesty
Displayed upon your face
It's hard for me to see it
When looking through this space

I confuse you gentle knight
As I'm confused my self
It's not courage that I seek,
Not looks, nor is it wealth

I seek a heart that's loving,
A love that's kind and true
I seek to be the only one
You give your heart up to

There are many circumstances
That need to be worked out
For things to work between two souls
There can't be any doubt

It's not that I don't trust you
But I've been hurt before
It's very hard for me not to
Build walls instead of doors

It's patience that I ask of you
Gentle knight, please understand
Rise before me here this day
And reach out for my hand

I reach for you and long to touch your soft and gentle hand.
Desires deep inside me while I've searched this desert land.
Searching for a woman who would stand the test of time,
Given to me by the Father, my true love I did find.
I see you my sweet darling, with courage you face the wall.
Take my hand and I will stand, Together we'll make it fall.

My goodness, I think I am having a romantic episode--it must be contageous.  Very beautiful poem and sentiment First Knight.  Your poem was great too, hoot.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
(ee cummings)
