For all you people who are ready for Spring! Sitting By An Open Window Whipperwills call, Crickets chrip, Silence.... Listen... Owls hoot, An airplane hums In the night sky For a moment Silence... Cooing doves, The refrigerator Drowns nature's sounds, Listening still, Howling dogs echo, Crickets chirp, A bird sings a sweet melody A rooster crows Crikets chirp in rhythem Silence again... For a moment, more chirping I hear the growling of my tummy. |

LOL! I am in the middle of summer, Sept (in NZ) and while it isn't much of a summer it is better than the winter that will soon be coming! (And we don't have owls - we only have little birds called Moreporks who have a haunting cry...related to owls - they look the same anyway) Great poem!< !signature--> '...I want to be free - free to know people and their backgrounds - free to move to different parts of the world...'
