Enemy In The Sky |

The calmness of the air gave out an eerie feeling. Not sure of what this day would soon be bringing. Dark clouds begin churning and rolling on by. There is a wild storm brewing, up in the sky. Latch down the windows and bring in the pets. This may be the big one we won't soon forget. The winds started howling as if in pain. Then the deafening sound of a fast moving train. The sounds of the siren can no longer be heard. Praying in silence, no one utters a word. Huddled together down below. The fear in the eyes begin to show. An eternity passes and it's quiet again. Then cautiously up the stairs they ascend. The devastation seen in everyone's eyes Told the story of the enemy from the skies. So much destruction along its winding path. Scattered debris left from the storm's aftermath. Now once again, the clean-up begins. And they wonder if this will ever end. |

The poem really put me into the place of the disaster although I've never been in a tornado. I like the poem. Deborah |

Thanks Mike, it can be a scary experience. Deborah, thank you for reading and commenting. Thank you Bojopy, however, I have been in such a storm. Fortunately the destruction was not as bad as it could have been. |

Ruth and Denise thank you and I am glad too that you don't have them in PA. However here in WY we do get them every once in a while. Thanks Kamla, will be looking forward to hearing from you. Missed those emails. |
