Today we say goodbye to Charlie Brown and the rest,
This time we’ve shared in life, has truly been the best

Snoopy on his house, typing out his life story;
Or flying against Red Baron, scarf waving with pride and glory

The Great Pumpkin will be missed in the fall of each new year;
And Pigpen, dust and all, will shine in memories so clear.

Through fifty years of time you’ve brightened up each day
But now that this is the last, we're saddened more than we can say.

Good bye to all the Peanuts gang!
January 3, 2000

Another piece of childhood bites the dust...too bad. And too bad for the author, I heard he has cancer, that's why he's retiring. We should all keep him in our prayers. What a wonderful tribute this is, Sharon!

After charlie brown and snoopy and calvin and hobbes, who's next? so sad.

It's a fitting tribute to such a wonderful character.

It wasn't so big over here PdV - but I did think Linus was a real cutie, and as for that Lucy...

Great poem!

Living not too far from Charles Schultz, there has been remarkably little stir caused by this. I grew up with his work as will my children, in that Peanuts will live on.

As long as there is videotape, Charlie Brown will be sharing my Christmas season. *S* But it is sad to know there'll be no more. Great job, PDV!!!

GOOD GRIEF!!

It never was Christmas until the Charlie Brown special was on.  We'd all sit hypnotized for that and the Grinch.

And poor, poor, Charlie never did get the little red haired girl.  What a love story.

(sigh)

Nice tribute.. thanks!
