The Lay Over

Sinking like a sailor
                  as the silence swept
But the waves of life are rising
                   each and every step
The animals in me wish
              to mitigate my only mind
As the temptress I wish
                 is frozen in it's time
What a magnificiant memory she is
                  and she could create
But our love was shattered
                 and shortened by fate
All hours in a day
      can't fill the thoughts
                of her I wish to think
Because she is my air,
           my sun, my land
                 and the water I drink
The only survival
          that keeps me alive,
                      with her not here
Is the knowing that maybe;
               maybe she will,
                          again be near
