(so much talk of butterflies led me to repost this poem) The Question for butterflies Where do butterflies go when they die I never see them in fall adding their color to leaves or drifting from a branch caught by the wind I saw a goldfish belly up and bloated that fell apart like the lily and was gone You never see them lying still and lifeless on the ground The cat in her shallow grave turns to bone and I saw the tiny skeleton of a field-mouse once Do they fly into the sun Are they the specks I see in the sunbeam across my room Do they build themselves a death nest high in a tree where I cannot see I had a collection of butterflies once I caught them in a net and killed them with insect spray Pinned them very carefully to an old cigar box and left them in the attic Some time later I went to look at them and they were gone No remnant of antenna remained only a fine layer of dust and ten pins In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. I wanna be a butterfly...ooops mind is wandering again...tis a good question...where do butterfly's go when they die? Some questions just might have no answers, and some are so obvious we overlook them *shrugs* Hmmmm, now you got me thinking (and that isnt a good thing) ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

Well...you know how I feel about butterflies, Martie!! I don't know - this is a question I asked about birds in the Alley some time ago!! Perhaps they go to the same place... Love your poem - darker than usual from you, well done. K |

Martie- A butterfly is such a delicate thing, I often wonder what becomes of their wing. Long after the flight is through I'd like to think they rest with you. I simply adored the flutter of this. ~*~Marge~*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I M H O Butterflies don't die They live an eternity Dancin round the Minds of humanity Dancing gracefully Showing more or less The rainbow colours They proudly possess Reserved for when they're Needed and plucked from Deep within the brain Awoken to dance Around again Like now! loved the poem Martie, hope you don't mind my little imput here. Very nice the poem But if memories don't fail me then I think Seymour wrote something to the effect where butterflies go Well sometimes Nice, Thank you The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools. |

Where do the butterflies go, when their season has passed, and the flowers have lost their scented bloom? They linger, but for a moment, then rest, upon a tree, or a rock, their wings outspread, for a last kiss from the sun... and disappear... ~*~ Hugging you, for all you are. |
