IT TAKES TWO

It always take two to erase the emptiness.
No matter what I do, I just can't face it alone.
I can stand on the rooftop and shout to the heavens,
Or dwell over sins for which I may never atone.

I can bow at the altar, I can silently pray.
I can write, I can sing, I can play the guitar.
I can read self help books every hour of the day.
I can cast a blank wish on a falling star.

But it always takes two to make this one man smile.
To reach the bliss of heaven, to make the angels blush.
To dance across the clouds in ecstasy,
To recline on dreams, velvet and plush.

To ride the waves of passion, pure and bold.
With the zest of a tempest, the awe of fine art.
Or to tell the story Time, so many times before, has told.
It always takes two to break one heart.

Michael Anderson

It's the little things you take for granted,
That'll mean the most to you when they're gone.

It takes two to make this poem so appreciated....you to write it and me to read it...you did and I do, very much.

Wonderful Michael--makes me so glad to be part of a two.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Michael: Did you have to make me cry??..

HUGS

Don't ask me where I'm going, just listen when I'm gone and far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn.

The 3rd stanza is my absolute favorite - - in a very dreamy & romantic sense...The whole poem was great, but the 3rd one really moved me...Glad you brought this poem "back" ?  Wonderfully & delicately written babe...
