An arrow streaks from silent bow To distant cliffs on deadly search, The aim cast high, intentions low, To where a pair of eagles perch. An eagle flutters to the grass, A cry of pain upon her tongue. A broken wing she finds she has, And cannot fly with only one. Her eagle eyes cast to the skies, To mate now soaring in the wind, To cliffs and nest, eaglets denied, Harsh victim of an archer's sin. She circles round, confusion wild, Her pinions moving in the breeze. She flaps a wing in awkward trial, Her voice grieves out in strident pleas. It takes two wings to soar in flight, To play a noble eagle's role, A single wing lends no one height, It takes two halves to make us whole. ****************** I didn't want to get left out of a Challenge Resurrection, nor did I want to miss this last opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! |

Beautiful! To find that missing half to make us whole is so hard! Perhaps in this next year! ![]() |

This made my heart hurt, Ron--so very beautiful and sad. Happy New Year to you. In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. (ee cummings) |

Majestic he appeared on wing, A-waft her soaring avian; Espying frenzied fluttering. This keen-eyed eagle looked upon Her abscind spirit waning so. From aerie perch he would alight, Lend nourishment lame pinion low And succor her return to flight. Bereft as one he'd flown before, But it takes two to touch the sun. Aloft these noble eagles soar In symbiotic unison. ..... ![]() ![]() [This message has been edited by Nan (edited 12-31-1999).] |

Many of us try to soar with one wing but we just go around in circles. Excellent writing, Ron, with an equally impressive Nanny response ![]() |

Lose a wing and learn to fly without, though it's just not the same. Wonderful poem Ron... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!! <*\\\>< Where there is faith, there is love. Where there is love, there is peace. Where there is peace, there is GOD. Where there is GOD, there is no need. Hallmark |

*With a broken wing, she carries her dreams, man you aught to see her fly* sorry songs keep popping in my head =o) Wonderful poem Ron, very touching and beautiful! ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns. But a place of torment because the light of God is gone. To escape this, accept the blood of Jesus Christ! ~*~ |

I sent this to someone who was having trouble with their partner at work as it explains that in life it does take two to make it work sometimes, as with eagles, or anchors and sails ![]() |
