I think this poem garnered the most poetic responses of any that I've posted in 1999..the original is in Open #1. Let's see if anyone can pull out their remarks from that time and repost here... Oh dear, my friend, you will never believe it! My face is grotesque! I have a huge zit. Right there on my jaw for all to see it’s as big as my face, quite literally! Tonight at dinner I turned my head and smacked a guy who almost fled! His glasses went flying, he nearly choked he looked ready to kill me - I waited to get poked! Though I try really hard to squeeze out a pop I can’t get that thing to let loose of one drop! I’ve even tried using my Ginzu knife! Maybe it’s there for the rest of my life. I’ll buy it a wig and draw on a face and proudly display it every place. Just think of it this way, I’m never alone I’ll have in my zit, a chaperone! |

As I approached, I thought twas a dimple, On closer inspection, I spied was a pimple, Not knowing her well, thought best to ignore, Rather than say.... How's things going Igor? She was rather pretty, except for the zit, I did have to wonder, the sheer size of it, That if it would burst, what mess it would be, And hope to dear God, none got splashed out on me. How could anyone forget such exquisite and meaningful poetry? addendum: Texaco's calling, to drill for some oil, In uncharted depths, of mountainous boil, She's coming much closer, Saints please protect us, The pressure is building, she's Mt. I was not around when open 1 was, I am sorry I missed this one the first time around. I spied this great zit, That grew from her face. The sheer size of it, Was so out of place. I tried to ignore, This growth from her chin. It tried to explore, When she turned to grin. Ignore I could not, It bumped into me. Myself I forgot, And turned then to flee. A person's nightmare, So very ugly. It gave me a scare, Can it happen to me? |

LOL ... This was my response... PIMPLY PALINDROMES ~ I write on pimples on right eye ~ Pimples simply erupt simply pimples ~ Pimples merely inverted dimples inverted merely pimples ~ To burst that zit a-cerbates-a zit that burst too ~ You'll bust yer pustule.....  |

I went back to read your reply in Open One Walt. If you had made one, I would still be laughing, but since you didn't I am only laughing as if you had written a reply, knowing full well you didn't but would have done a great one had you so written. That zit is big I can't deny. You turned around and poked my eye! It is so huge, and ugly too! White puss is moving through and through. I have the strength, come closer please. I'll stand behind you as I squeeze. I cant believe I made it pop! Now how to make that oozing stop? I wasnt around when it appeard in OP1 either, but I am glad I didn't miss it this time!! Thanks for the laugh!! And hey, now it's popped, hopefull it will clear up soon =o) ~*~ Hell is not a place of fire and a devil with a tail and horns.
