I took out the too graphic lines that was in the poem because some people complained the first time around. I hope y'll like the poem. Everytime, I take a journey, through my city, my heart fills with massive pity. I've often wondered, what the world was coming to, when I every street, filled with drug addict and prostitutes. On every corner, there's a drug-dealer, capitalizing on the weak minds of people, like Grim the Reaper. Homeless people, walk the streets, looking for something to eat. Everytime I talk to them, they give me sad expressions and confess to me, that they have no money. Whenever I have some, I give them some because like them, I could have been a bum. It hurts me to see, my beautiful black ladies, selling their precious bodies. And they don't seem to care, if it's Mike, Charles or Blair! I see a lot of my black women on welfare too and they're stuck and trapped in it like glue. If they would apply themselves more accordingly, they won't have to worry about being trapped in the spider webs, of our society. Life is what you make it and if you don't take any chances or risks, you'll be telling yourself, "what if?" Because of this, my city is flled with heavy bliss. Sadly, it seems that, my city, will always be, a fallen city. Nathan |

Nate this is a very realistic look at the dark side in every large city. A hard and a sad place for anyone to be. Each one is only trying to survive in the best way they know how and sort of trapped in a vicious cycle. I believe as you say the hope lies in applying themselves towards an education and a goal.
