For a Moment in Time I saw you today and my eyes left me And for a moment in time I saw nothing but you in my life Everything flowed like the river to the sea I swam in your thoughts And loved your memories The beginning was the end And I finally saw the whole picture You were so kind to me You came and made me realize the true nature of my soul So what more could I do But to restrict myself to the cause of everything that is right Right but not wrong A prediction of what I thought could never be the opposite But to my dismay the sun fell down And brought me back my eyes Just in time to see reality fall So the rivers ran dry And the rain came to my thoughts And washed away all that was so real Everything that was so right And now all my movements are wrong And the familiarity of it all has gone away So with sad endings near I thought that no other options where available But then regardless if the distance beyond doubts You came back to me The predictions of yesterday's lost was proven But to be past based That you are far beyond what I found familiar Beyond what I know as fate Could it be more then shadows With stable dreams that continues to dwell within my soul Yes I say Yes I know You are reality And reality is my Heaven For now the beginning is the end And I finally see the whole picture now This is for you Lisa...my first love...I miss you still... "you are far beyond what I found familiar..." oooh, I wish I'd written that line! I'll be thinking of this one for awhile. Savoring thoughts of MY first love... (whom I later found out is gay)BUT that's another poem, I guess. Thank you for dusting off some memories for me. |

Really nice Nate. I enjoyed "I swam in your thoughts, and loved your memories" so much. Its amazing how our minds can create such beauty sometimes. James |
