Whispering softly to the moon
asking quietly why lover's wings
get broken all too soon
in losing closeness comes back in

How can we share this together
the promises yet we broke the chain
and in our hearts feel so alone
still we laugh and share the pain

Pictures of castles made of sand
in dreams we lived together
how long is love supposed to shine
I thought diamonds were forever...

The grape passes through the press to yield wine.
Your life must pass through the press of passion and pain to yield the wine of wisdom..

Really nice Rainbow.  I think that diamonds are forever...but if we pick the wrong diamond it takes off on us. (laugh)  James

Ahh, but diamonds are forever, they just don't shine bright every minute of the day, but you should see them when they catch the light of a Rainbow.
Great poem Cindy.

I have to agree with PdV....one of the finest!

If I would have a diamond
I would give it to you
Not as a lover but as a friend to you
Hugs and Love will some day die with me
But the diamond will forever be with thee
So If I had a diamond
I would give it to you
For your a friend of mine that I love too
But a diamond could never be
as beautiful as thee
