A Complication of My Times

01/13/2000

It is but a complication of my times
A true testimony of the way my life has been
And like a shell of useless garbage I am protected by false hopes of recycled dreams
But I continue to try
Knowing in my mind that regardless of what I may do
Fate has other plans for me
So I go on my way
Finally admitting that good guys never win
That my fortune is but dwelling thoughts of what I really want

It is but a complication of my times
A true testimony of the way my life has been
And like worthless kisses of a shadow that has fallen for me
I find it hard to feel
And find it harder to see even on a clear day
How useless my actions can be

For it is but a complication of my times
A true testimony of the way my life has been
To reach for the stars and find the relentless light of a broken dream shining bright
Waking me up at night and reminding me that I am still alone
As shadows that fall for me comes and embraces my soul
Telling me that I won’t feel a single thing
Be it happiness
Be it joy
Be it love
But I continue to try
Knowing in my mind that regardless of what I may do
Fate has other plans for me
So I go on my way
Finally admitting that good guys never win
That my fortune is but dwelling thoughts of what I really want

Welcome to Passions.  And this poem is lovely...  And yes, good guys do win.  If you're determined enough, you'll always reach that point of happiness inside, despite all of life's strife.  You wrote it on the thirteenth too...    That's my b-day, even more interesting.  Nevertheless, nice poem, me like very much.

WELCOME!  Well I was gonna say good guys win too, but everyone else said it already.  The sun will shine again, what goes around comes around. You will find your win too!

Which way is right for you,
Stop and softly ask yourself,
What Would Jesus Do?
