The socks are mended.
The dishes are done.
The stories are read
I've tucked in my daughter and son.

The wash has been carefully folded
Where did the day go by?
Somewhere inbetween the cooking and cleaning
I lost the morning and its turned to night.

Like my mother before me
I feel her strife
Between work and housework,
there is no end to being a housewife.

Those were the good old days. I think I spent 20 years without being able to sit through a cup of coffee.
I enjoy knowing that I wasn't the only one
Enjoyed the poem

Thanks Liz, I often times consider the day a success if I've made it to work and the kids have made it to school and no one is in their underwear!

Very nice poem, Gemini.

I'm one of those guys who can appreciate how difficult it is being a homemaker. My secretary is a single mom. I have no idea how she manages to hold down a full-time job, do all the housework and take care of an overactive 4 year old. I have enough trouble just taking care of myself.
