"Love and Hate" At first, I was suspicious of your Love. It had me in it’s keep, But, then, it reached down deep, kissed my soul, And restore my heart, replete. Then Hate tried to take control, To tear apart and eat at the very thing, That Love had made so whole. Then, Love, came to my rescue, And released me from Hate’s skew. It gave me back the thing I need To make my life complete. So, now, I surrender to your Love, And lay me, at its feet. ____ < !signature--> "It often comes to me at night When lights are dim And thoughts are bright. As I ponder what to write, Take pen in hand And with it make My words appear as no mistake. Guided by a force unknown, I create a new And wondrous poem." ~Gene~ [This message has been edited by u_gene (edited 02-01-2000).] |
