Penny wise and pound foolish You whistle past as idle words Are caught somewhere in Our tomorrows forward. We are what we make of it We’re remembered for what We take of it. There is a definite misgiving In the revival of check and balance, The power of your stare Is your most singular talent. And with 24/7 access at your disposal Will you refuse romance For a more collective tolerance Where the brick and mortar stones dance? Are you willing to take the chance? With scorned ribbons of taking Darting in and out Rise high above the din With a personal shout. You have such a sweet mouth Even as you said, “ I can’t remember her name.” We are what we make of it. We are remembered for what We take of it. With few exceptions But those are universally proclaimed. I no longer comprehend The performance gain Reign on silver cadence, run It’s a six shooter, not a gun. A little more or a little less She is chained: A time worn goddess A known many dismissed. A connumbra that goes on and on and on While dispirited travelers tiredly gaze. Will you be the one? |

Soleil, I have certainly missed seeing your name attached to a poem because, when it it, I know the poem is excellent. This one is no exception. |
