I always listen and hear what you say,
But often only 'think' I know what you mean.
Sometimes you scare me at your impish play,
Because I'm not quite sure at what it may seem.

I won't apologize, never, for thinking of you,
Obviously!  But that's not the whole story.
You must know its sacrifice; plenty of 'glue'
To be able to adlib in a much Lesser Glory.

So, Go Ahead!  big leaguer and swing away,
You may be winning and crowding home plate,
But remember, this boy came for a serious play.
I'm not a quitter, but a pitcher in fairly wide gait!
