Wanderlust

Sunday drips in
delicious  weaving
fabric of fog

curled around this slow village
rendering colorful fabric
crossing to stone churches

Trace
   this
      map
         of years
it paves a citrus grove
that still harbors
ancient scent

I can see the sheltering
in this oak of years
glistening crystal rain
long into the sun of time

Blond and brittle
coloring book of porch
and dark eyed treasure
trash heavy alley of time
seeps into this watching
that stays

To wander distance
from this street
is paper and words

I travel to wild Mayan hearts
where strands of alamo trees
dissect the page of newsprint
   in the Sunday paper

These years of Sunday
has tamed my skin
   not absorbed
my lust for going

Could I choose
between this mild love lined street
and that far off serendipity
I would be gone
into the heart
of other

Martie-
Reading one of your beautiful free-vers
presentations is like being there.

It is serendipity by design !
A treasured wanderlust appeal.

Can you tell that I like it?
I do.

Reading your poetry is like floating in a canoe.  Just float as the current carries you along to enjoy the scenery.

The word I reconized in just on look
For a Wander tour you took
My heart away with you
Martie oh how sweet of you

And here I thought you call that "Hiking"

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

The way the snow's coming down right now, I wouldn't mind going there either, how about it, Denise. Martie, you whisk me away!

Thanks Marge--if only my poetry could take me there, for I'm aware I'm still in this chair and serendipity left without me.

Mike--You can ride in my canoe any time.  Thank you!

Helmut--You can call it hiking, and I'm sure glad your heart went along.  Thanks for the sweet words.

Denise and Liz--Let's go, no snow, just friends, no end
