         Forty winks

I'd speak to you of forty winks,
A colloquial of today.
It is to me a form of think
A drift, but not too far away.

It is an introspective read
And it's one that I wish to air.
It also is my bodies need,
Just a little more repair.

In time, it is a little pinch,
A small wallow, just a dram.
About the size of an inch,
So who would really give a damn.

It gives me pleasure and a pause,
A moments pause within my life.
It helps me with my common cause,
But really irritates my wife.

It happens to the best of us.
I really don't know why the fuss?
Your ticket is but sixty plus,
T'will surely get you on the buss.

And if your tired of nudging plys,
Just learn to sleep with open eyes.

Those little nod-offs are very important. Get some sleep, Sy!

Oh I like the word "colloquial"....nicely done Sy

I can live with the idea
That we are merely actors
Playing a part
But I do wish
Whoever is writing my script
Would learn to use
A few more Happy Endings
