"Heaven in a Box"

People say
heaven has a gate--
therefore, it is contained,
a bandbox of the select few.

"Please let me in;
Just open the door a crack, and
give me a peek! for the
mark of Cain sears my brow
and I am a weary wanderer."

But if we open our box of heaven, won't it be empty?

Perhaps
the earth is only a bubble,
beautiful and delicate
but with heaven peering in,
laughing at our storebought imitation of itself.

Perhaps we looks out of earth,
not into heaven.

Mankind groans in its chains of mortality,
pounds on the glass window into eternity,
crying,
"Let us out--
Give us distance,
Give us perspective,
so that we may see each other
through the eyes of angels."

Aren't we all weary wanderers?
Well put!
