Full moon high overhead I lay here in my rocking bed Waiting, Watching as I do Listening to the sleeping crew Waves crash upon the shore A gentle tapping at my door Sea fresh air enters my room Dispersing the dark lonely gloom Deck sways back and fro A creaking sound heard from below Dark specter hovers close In her hand a single rose Soft petals touch my face In it's path pains erased The weight of her sends my bed rocking I wonder if she hears my heart knocking Pressure from her lips on mine The scent of her so divine Feeling Passions storm aroused In this body deeply housed Too soon the tide comes in Hearing the topside din I must release her, this I know For out to sea I have to go Although Captain of my fate I be From her embrace I'm never free Long nights her memory I remember Of rose petals in late September |

Haunting is the perfect way to describe this poem! A well told tale, also. Elizabeth "He have his goodness now. God forbid I take it from him!" -The Crucible |
