The Snowflake So high am I Floating and falling in my princess petticoat of lacy white a fragile piece of ice crystal weaving the lace as I fall downward floating blowing....swirling....tumbling ever weaving ever forming patterns of symmetrical crystal in perfect architecture lightly falling fast unable to see my destination whisked by the wind one among millions of princess petticoats all falling and we will land together one on top the other and cover the landscape with a blanket of white lacy layers of crystal flakes Then suddenly I land, earthed on the woolen sleeve of a little girl she looks down at me in wonder and amazement then raises her sleeve close to her smiling eye and whispers how beautiful....how beautiful how beautiful you are! in that exquisite moment in that short, short fraction of a moment I show my crystal splendor a discovery of wondrous beauty a single flashing moment that will long remain in her memory a magnificence small but unequaled by anything on earth and she sighs wanting to hold me there forever as I quickly melt into a little drop of fallen water Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 01-24-2000).] |

Liz this was beautiful! I'm sorry to put this here for you but I wanted you to see it! My mom (sandgrain) and my dad left me this message for you today. God knows our needs, please tell your friend we will pray for her husband and also inform her about b-17 .. documentation http://www.apricotsfromgod.com/journal.htm Please Liz, check into this, it is apricot seeds. My dad was diagnosed with cancer of the bladder, he started to take these and there hasn't been a sign of it since. Please go to this web site and read up on it. There is hope in this I promise and I had forgotten all about it! Please hurry! [This message has been edited by WhtDove (edited 01-24-2000).] |

Oh, this is beautiful, Elizabeth! This made me think of just such a moment from my childhood! I thought I was the only one who got lost in the intricacy of a snowflake. Denise |

From "princess petticoats" which gives delight to apricot seeds, thus God's fine insight in giving Elizabeth for what she prays in this and every single day. Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

This poem rests lightly... as much of a delight as the snowflake it describes. *G* Beautiful! |

Wonderful free verse Liz, and the thought that sometimes one small moment gives importance to this great big universe of time. In the dew of little things, the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. (ee cummings) |

Lizzie Yanno, you were very wise to select a little girl's sleeve on which to alight. If old Toe had been your final destination, that scalawag's beer-laden breath woulda pulverized you before the first word - lol. This is an unusual poem - first person snowflake. Origianl to say the least. I hope everything works out on your home front. |

Oh, Elizabeth- This is truly 'one of a kind'. Like the snowflake, it drifts gently through the mind ... resting for a beautiful moment in my heart. How lovely. How therapeutic the poetry of our soul can be. Thank you for this exquisite beauty. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Wow! To see such wonders in a snowflake. I know. I work with very small things. There's an entire world within. Try looking at a snowflake under a microscope before it melts. Love this poem. it reminds me of what William Blake saw in a grain of sand. |

I love snowflakes; they are so unique, each different like people. Joy "To you, my children, These lovely flowers I give. Prune ye my vines and fig trees, With care my flowerets tend, But keep the pathway open, Your home is at the end." -Robert Frost (from: God's Garden) |
