Places I never would have known existed
Had I never gazed into your hazel eyes
And sometimes I lie awake at night
Dreaming of how it'd feel with you there beside me
…holding my hand in the darkness of the night…
Or how it'd feel to run my fingers through your hair
…I could make you gasp a contented sigh…
And I want so badly to kiss your lips
…Just once…
To hold you close enough to hear your heart beat
…or maybe skip a beat if I whispered in your ear…
And I wish I could be the girl you want so badly
I wish I could capture your heart, like you've damn well captured mine
And I want to tell you how I feel
…under the stars, in the moonlight, with you close by…
But I guess I'm terrified of what I know you'll say
…and I never want you to see me cry…
And I can take the rejection, really
But I could never stand to lose you
…and I know I'll lose you someday…
So for now I guess I'll go on living the lie

Dreaming in the silence of the night
Of the love I could never share with you
Yearning to hear you whisper my name in youthly desire
